We are excited to continue to our Speaker Series for Middle & High School Students which is designed to expose students to professionals from a variety of fields.
Our third session is scheduled for Wednesday, February 5th with Jose Vargas, a Centner Academy dad whose talk is titled: Entrepreneurship & The Importance of Networking & Relationships.
Jose Vargas is a serial entrepreneur and investor with 5 successful exits, and over 20 years of experience building and growing technology companies. In 2000, Jose founded MailCreations.com, an online marketing company, which was acquired by a Japanese publicly traded corporation in 2004. He then co-founded BrokersWeb, a performance marketing agency for financial products, which grew to $100M in revenue in 4 years and was successfully acquired in 2011. After the sale of BrokersWeb, Jose subsequently co-founded three companies: AutoWeb (automotive media), BlueKite (fintech) and MedicareSupplement.com, all of which were acquired. In 2012, Jose and his partners founded PeopleFund, an early-stage technology venture capital firm, which has invested in over thirty companies. Most recently, Jose co-founded Healthcare.com an insurance technology company, which has grown to $1 Billion in valuation and has raised over $200 Million in funding from institutional investors.
Jose lives in Miami Beach with his wife and three kids. As a family they focus on giving back and philanthropy. Jose is an active member of the Young Presidents Organization.
