High School Graduation Requirements - Minimum Credits

English | 4 | Focus on strong writing skills, analysis, and communication across disciplines. |
Mathematics | 4 | Must include Algebra 1 or higher, emphasizing problem-solving and real-world applications. |
Science | 3 | Hands-on, inquiry-based learning with at least two lab sciences, fostering critical thinking and experimentation. |
Social Studies | 3 | Includes Global Studies, American History, and courses that develop leadership, civic engagement, and global awareness. |
World Languages | 2 | Students must complete two consecutive years of the same language to build fluency and cultural competence. |
Fine Arts | 1 | Includes visual, performing, or digital arts, fostering creativity and innovation. |
Physical Ed/Health | 1 | Focus on overall wellness, movement, mindfulness, and health education. |
Other | 6 | Includes core competencies, one online course, and financial literacy as part of Centner Academy’s focus on entrepreneurship and life skills. |
Note: 1 credit = a year-long course, 0.5 credits = a semester-long course
Course Prerequisites For students entering 9th grade, Algebra I and Physical Science are prerequisites.
