Our middle school Mandarin students recently brought the vibrant spirit of Chinese New Year to life with a spectacular celebration!

The festivities were a culmination of weeks of learning and preparation.
Students delved into the rich cultural traditions of the holiday, researching customs and symbolism.

They channeled their creativity into crafting magnificent dragons, essential symbols of the Lunar New Year.
And what’s a celebration without delicious food?

Our students transformed the cafeteria into a bustling Chinese market, where they showcased their culinary talents. They prepared and offered their unique takes on traditional Chinese New Year dishes, giving everyone a taste of the holiday.
This immersive experience beautifully connected foreign language learning with cultural studies, art, and even a touch of entrepreneurship!

Students not only learned about the language and culture but also gained valuable experience in creating, marketing, and selling their culinary creations.
This cross-curricular project fostered cultural understanding, creativity, and real-world skills, making the celebration truly meaningful and memorable.
