Our community is buzzing with pride as we congratulate The Mighty Bees Robotics Team who received First Place for their Innovative Science Project at last Sunday’s FIRST Lego League Regional Qualifier tournament!
As part of the SUPERPOWERED season, FIRST LEGO League Challenge teams participating in the Innovation Project explore where energy comes from and how it is distributed, stored, and used – and then put their superpowered creativity to work to innovate for a better energy future. The Innovative Science Project Award is awarded to the team that demonstrates overall outstanding achievement and best innovative, well-researched, solution to their SUPERPOWERED challenge.
Our students collaborated on their ideas and considered efficient design for their user, possible barriers to implementation, documented the evaluation of their invention, validated their design with professionals working in STEM, and developed a prototype. This award celebrates The Mighty Bees efficiently designed robot, an innovative project solution that effectively addresses the season challenge, and great Core Values evident in all they do. This award celebrates a team that the judges recognize and expect great things from in the future.
The Mighty Bees participated amongst twelve teams at last Sunday’s tournament, and are 1 of 5 to advance to the regional tournament in Palm Beach Gardens on Saturday, February 25th.
Way to go, Mighty Bees!
