We are thrilled to share that Centner Academy recently hosted Lisa B, South Florida Director of FIRST, along with Ryanne C, First Headquarters Project Manager, and Sarah W, First Headquarters Senior Manager, for a visit to our campus on Tuesday. This visit was especially meaningful after our first-year rookie team’s successful season and the $8,000+ donation from the First Lego program to further STEAM robotics on campus.
The visitors spent half the day meeting with teachers and speaking with students about their roles in Lego. Their interactions with our students left them impressed by their curiosity and eagerness to learn. They were amazed by Centner Academy’s unique approach to whole-child development, where every detail of the student day is designed for success, from academics to food to the learning environments. They were also intrigued by the range of topics covered during their visit, including sustainable business models in entrepreneurship, electroculture planting techniques in science, and designing and building model habitats in computer science.
During the visit, the visitors enjoyed the smiles of our students and engaging conversations with teachers. The students were thrilled to meet the “Lego Ladies” and to have the opportunity to learn from them, including how legos are made and how schools in south africa and asia operate. It was evident that our school is a unique and special place compared to others they have visited around the world.
